This is a budget safari and it will take you through two countries of Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Detailed itinerary for the 3 days Virunga Gorilla Trekking safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Gisenyi – Congo border
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be met by our driver/guide who will brief you about the whole safari and here you’re allowed to ask as many questions as you want so as you’re equipped with all the information about the safari. From here, you will embark on a 4hr drive to the Goma border and upon reaching the border, you will have a stop over for lunch. On the border, you will also check in to the tourism and you will be issued a gorilla trekking permit that you will present at the start of each trek. You will then proceed to where you will have an over night stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park
Wake up early, take breakfast and your driver/guide will lead you to the park head quarters where you will be briefed on what to expect and the rules and guidelines to follow before and close to the mountain gorillas. After the briefing, you will led by the guides and park rangers to go find mans closest relative in his natural habitat. Gorilla trekking usually takes between 30mins to 7hrs depending on the location of the gorilla group you have been allocated to see.
During the trek, you will get to see other wildlife species that reside in the park like birds, butterflies, okapis, topis, warthogs among others. On spotting the mountain gorillas, you will be given time of upto 1hr to observe their behaviour as they play feed and more and its during this time that you can take as many photos as you’d want so that you get to remember this safari and its worth looking back. After the beautiful encounter with the gorillas, you will head back to the park head quarters. You will be led back to your accommodation option for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Travel to Kigali International Airport
You will wake up in the early morning, have your breakfast and embark on journey to Kigali international airport. You will use the same route through the Goma border and while here you can purchase a few souvenirs before you proceed to Rwanda where you will be left. Arranging you accommodation before and after the trip does come at an extra amount.
