Our 3 days big five safari Uganda takes you to Murchison falls National Park, one of the oldest and the first to be established National Parks in Uganda. Situated in the north western part of the country, Murchison covers an area of 3,840 square kilometers which makes it the biggest conservation area in Uganda.
With such a size, it also has the biggest concertation of wildlife species compared to any other place in Uganda. And among the species you will find here include the big four wild animals that include the leopards, lions, elephants and buffaloes. You will able to spot a variety of other species roaming around the park that is the hyenas, various species of birds, giraffes, antelope species, the Nile crocodile, hippos, among other species. A visit to Ziwa rhino sanctuary which is situated along the route to the park will make your big five game animals complete. African big five are the most popular and most dangerous wildlife animals that you definitely have to see while on a visit to parks where they’re found.
Murchison will give you a real African experience especially during a game drive in the open savannah grassland where you will be able to spot a number of wildlife species feeding in the park. In the park, you will be able to go for a game drive, boat cruise along the Nile River which stretches up to the Mediterranean Sea. Here you will be able to spot the devil’s Cauldron (a point where the Nile River forces its way through a 7m gorge before tumbling down 40m deep making a thunderous sound and forming the rainbow that’s usually captured in photos.)

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park through Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Our driver/guide will pick you up early in the morning hours that is at 7:30am from either the airport or from your hotel to begin your journey to Murchison falls National Park. Before the safari begins, you will be briefed about the whole itinerary. Here you can ask as many questions as you want so that you’re well versed with information of the place you’re visiting, what to expect and look forward to while there. Once the briefing is done, you will be set off using the Kampala – Gulu highway which will lead you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking.
Ziwa was established in 2005 purposely to re-introduce southern white rhinos which the country had lost through the massive poaching. Currently the place as about 32 rhinos that you will be able to see on your visit here. Rhino tracking usually starts with briefing and then you will be led into the wild in search of the endangered species. Tracking while accompanied by a ranger and guides takes between 1-2hrs depending on the location of rhinos.
Once tracking is done, you will leave for Masindi town for lunch, there after proceed to Murchison falls National Park. Upon reaching the park, you will head straight for a hike to the top of the walls. Here, you will be stunned by the beautiful scenic views of the falls and be able to witness the nile river forcing its way through a 7m gorge tumbling 40m down making the thunderous sound. From here, you will led to your lodge to checkin, have dinner and then rest.

Day 2: Game Drive and boat cruise.
Wake up excited because this is the day you will get to check out alot that Murchison does have within its boundaries. After breakfast, you will be led to the park with hopes of spotting the famous big five safari uganda game animals that is lions, leopards, elephants and buffaloes. Seeing the big five safari Uganda animals is a dream come true to many and its always our joy to see you achieve that. You will be able to spot some other species like the impalas, a number of bird species, Uganda kobs, oribis, topis, Rothschild giraffes, waterbucks and more other species.
After the game drive, you will head back to your lodge for lunch, rest abit and then go for an afternoon boat cruise on the Albert Nile that will reward you with great scenic views of the river as it flows north.
On the boat cruise look forward to spotting wildlife species like the Nile crocodiles, hippos, a number of bird species like the bee-eater, the elusive shoebill stock, cormorants, kingfisher and more other animals.
After the boat cruise, you will be led back to your lodge to have dinner and then rest.

Day 3: Optional game drive and transfer to Kampala
Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and then checkout of your lodge. Enroute out of the park, you can consider going for second game drive. This is specifically meant for you to look out for species you hadn’t seen in the first game drive. There after, you will leave the park satisfied and proceed to Kampala. Upon arrival in Kampala, you will be dropped at the airport or hotel around the city.
