4 Days Double Gorilla Trekking Uganda
This 4-day double gorilla trekking safari does offer a once in a lifetime to see man’s closest relative – mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. This unique package gives an opportunity to experience gorilla trekking in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is home to almost half of the world’s population of these incredible species and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park which are occupied with different gorilla families with differing characteristics.
Double gorilla trekking will require you to purchase two trekking permits which is a bit costly. But the experience is breathe taking since you get to see different gorilla families. Please note that gorilla families behave and have completely different characteristics so being part of this trip, will fully help you understand gorillas.
For each gorilla trekking permit purchased, its an opportunity to get close and observe mountain gorillas for up to an hour and that’s 2hrs if you choose this particular package.

Detailed 4 Days Double gorilla trekking safari to Uganda
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will be picked early in the morning hours to beat the usual traffic jam by a our English speaking driver. Enroute to Bwindi along the Kampala – Masaka- Mbarara – Kabale – Kisoro Rd, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of hills and valleys and you can as well choose to document these features right onto your device like camera or phone. You will then stop by Agip motel/ Igongo cultural center for lunch
And right after the meals, you will continue the journey to Bwindi and here you will also get to view the incredible and beautiful Kigezi hills. Upon arrival in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will check in to your lodge, have your dinner and rest given the fact that it was a long journey.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity to go see man’s closest relative out in the dense jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable national park. you will have your breakfast early in the morning hours and later you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing on the guidelines to follow while near the great mountain gorillas and also within the park.
Once briefing is done, you will be led into the by well trained rangers in search of these species. Gorilla trekking usually takes between 2hrs to 6hrs depending on the location of mountain gorillas.
On spotting these endangered species, you will only be allowed to spend time of upto 1hr observing their behavior, taking pictures and getting to know so much about the particular gorilla family. It might be thrilling in the first place but it’s a rewarding activity.
You will later be led to the park headquarters where you will later be transferred back to your lodge where you will have lunch and immediately you will be transferred to another gorilla haven in Uganda – Mgahinga Gorilla National where you will see the endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys.
Upon arriving, you will check in to your lodge, have dinner and rest to prepare you for the second trek.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National Park
Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga is not any different from that of Bwindi however, the difference here is that you will be able to trek only one gorilla family which is the only gorilla group found here.
You will wake up in the early morning hours, have breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing. After the briefing you will be led into the park to search for these species. While in the thick jungles in search of mountain gorillas, you may get a chance to spot golden monkeys.
On spotting gorillas, you will only be allowed to spend 1hr with these endangered species and later proceed back to the park headquarters to get a certificate congratulating you of taking part of this relieving activity. You will be transferred back to your lodge to rest preparing you for the next day’s long journey back to Kampala.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
You will be required to wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and then later drive back to Kampala or Entebbe depending on the drop off point of your choice. This too is memorable as you get to see the beautiful rolling hills, different vegetation types and other features of the western part of the country.
Along the way, you will have stop overs like at Agip Motel/Igongo cultural center in Mbarara for lunch and then proceed to Kayabawe another stopover where you will get to see a lot of hand made crafts on display like stools, drums, necklaces, wrist bands, caps and many others. From here you will proceed to Kampala and upon reaching, you can choose to either be transferred to any accommodation facility or direct to Entebbe International airport. This will mark the end of your 4 days double gorilla trekking safari.
